Deadline for Theatre Job Fair Candidates to register for convention and upload materials.
SETC hosts one of the nation’s largest off-stage theatre job fairs during the annual SETC Convention.
If you are looking for a job or to hire for off-stage and/or technical theatre positions — including academic, administrative, backstage, design, stage management, costumes, props, carpentry, lighting, front-of-house, box office and other company or crew jobs, as well as intern and apprentice positions — the SETC Theatre Job Fair is the place for you! The 2021 SETC Theatre Job Fair will take place virtually. Candidates will create a gallery page on our virtual platform where they can upload their resume. Companies can review candidate gallery pages and request interviews with the candidates in whom they are interested. All interview will take place via video conferencing sessions and will occur during convention dates.

Candidates
If you have already registered, hiring companies participating in the Theatre Job Fair have already been given access to your materials. If you have not registered, the deadline is March 1. To register for the convention, click here and select the Theatre Job Fair add-on. Once you complete and pay for registration, you will be sent a link to complete the Theatre Job Fair application. You will need to upload your resume, a gallery thumbnail image, and any portfolio materials that you wish to share.
Interviews:
Interviews can happen in two ways
- You reach out to a company
Once you are registered, you will receive a link to view the hiring companies including contact information, job postings, and general information about their organization. Similarly to a traditional in-person year, you can identify a company you wish to interview with, locate their scheduling link on their page, and set up a time and date to talk. - The company reaches out to you
Hiring companies that are participating in Theatre Job Fair will also receive your materials and will be able to reach out to their selected candidates for interviews.
Please Note: Please note: Theatre Job Fair is happening separately from other convention events, as described above. You will not find interview information on the virtual convention platform.
Hiring Companies
If you have already registered, you have already been provided with access to Theatre Job Fair candidate materials. If you have not registered, the deadline is March 1. Once you complete and pay for registration, you will be sent a link to the TJF candidate materials. You can search, filter, and sort these gallery pages – and “star” candidates that are most interesting to you
Interviews:
You need to provide a link that provides auditionees with the ability to schedule an interview during the week of the convention (we recommend outlook, calendly, appointlet, or acquity scheduling) and a video conferencing platform (we recommend zoom or gotomeeting) where the interview can occur. You set the times and dates that work for you.
If you have not already provided this link when registering, you will need to contact SETC with your link to insert that onto your page for you.
Interviews can happen in two ways
- You reach out to a candidate
Using the candidate materials we provide you, identify the candidates you wish to invite to an interview, locate their contact information on their candidate page, and reach out to them directly to utilize your scheduling link to set up an interview. - The candidate reaches out to you
Similar to a traditional in-person year, candidates that are participating in Theatre Job Fair will also receive your organization’s materials and will be able to use your scheduling link to book an interview even if you do not contact them.
