Part arts incubator, part apprenticeship. This full-time, two year (year round) program is a unique opportunity for artists to earn a degree steeped in both the practical and the theoretical. Students will be taught by and work alongside the award-winning, working professionals of Touchstone Theatre–a 40 year old mission-driven ensemble of practicing artists who know the craft from daily engagement with their own brand of socially engaged performance creation. While in residence with the Touchstone Ensemble, students will hone their vision and see their work through from artistic impulse to realization while creating original solo, ensemble-devised and community-based performances. This program is for artists who want to create their own work, instead of playing a supporting role in someone else’s vision. Interested students will have the option to specialize in community-based work, for which Touchstone Theatre has received international acclaim. All artist-creators with vision and voice are encouraged to apply!
